CNC Grinder

From £35,000 to £47,000 per annum

Overview of daily duties

This role involves loading/unloading, checking dimensions in line with inspection processes and general maintenance of multiple machines. Liaising with the nightshift on the morning changeover and ensuring stock of consumables are adequate.

General:

  • To program, set up and operate CNC and manual machines
  • Cylindrical Grinding Skills
  • To be able to work to fine tolerances
  • Produce first-off components for inspection
  • Ensure components are produced to the highest standards as per specifications and drawings.
  • Inspect components during production to ensure drawing / spec requirements are maintained.
  • Be able to interpret operations sheets, drawings, sketches and CAD to program and set up parts
  • To clean and undertake preventative maintenance of machines
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing activities where required.

Skills / Experience:

  • Experience with programming, setting and operating Studer CNC Grinders and manual machines
  • Be able to read and interpret engineers’ drawings and tolerances.
  • Be able to use a wide range of different measuring devices and inspection techniques.
  • Familiar with Aerospace AS9100D requirements in relation to CNC grinder’s role.
  • Able to work as part of a team and assist others where required.
